Ontario new home HST rebate 2026: up to $130,000 back on a new home in Durham, sign by March 31, 2027

Quick answer: If you sign an agreement to buy a new home from a builder in Ontario between April 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027, you can get up to $130,000 of the HST back. That's the full 13% HST on homes up to $1 million, and a flat $130,000 on homes from $1 million to $1.5 million. You don't need to be a first-time buyer, but the home must be your primary residence (or a family member's).
